Ayudame, the orphanage our kids are supported by, is located in the capital city of Bogota. We have learned that Ayudame has just purchased a farm house, out in the country, for the older children to live in, while they are waiting to be adopted. Renovation on the house should begin soon. We are so excited for the opportunity these kids will have to live in a place where they can run and play and have more room than their current location in the city. You will see from the pictures that Colombia is a beautiful country!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your referral! Our timing is pretty similar and we should be in Bogota at about the same time as you. Our agency mailed out the I800 for us last Wednesday so we are waiting to hear for our approval and travel dates within the next few weeks. We are estimating that we will be in Bogota around the week of April 25.
This will be our second adoption. We adopted our first daughter in 2008. We were blessed with another girl and she just turned 1 on Jan. 31.
It will be amazing if our paths cross in Colombia! Our agency will probably place us at Lanthana or El Refugio but we may end up renting an apartment.
I'll keep checking in on you to see where you are in the process. Hope you receive word soon!
Just realized you are in AZ. We are in CA! Maybe our paths will cross at the Colombian Embassy in L.A.!
