After nine weeks in Colombia, we finally took the kids to McDonalds! This was their first time! They loved the Happy Meals and had a great time in Playland! We try and walk somewhere everyday, and today's lunch was a great break for all of us. They even got their favorite....ice cream!

ReplyDeleteWe are another LSS family that has adopted 3 beautiful children from Ayudame in 2005, 2006, and 2010. My friend Mary Jaenisch passed along your website, so I hope it ok that I am posting here! It is so much fun to read about your adoption journey, and remember fondly all of the places you are seeing and all the things you are doing. It has been almost a year since we were in Colombia to get our daughter, and we already miss it! Your children are absolutely beautiful! They look like a perfect fit!! It always amazes me how that happens. Adoption is such a leap of faith, and you guys seem like you are handling all of the ups and downs of the adoption process excellently. We know how hard it is to want to be home, but know that your time there is brief in the scheme of things, and you are doing all the right things! Just keep taking in Colombia, and all those memories of the beautiful country that your children are from, and you will be home before you know it. Meanwhile, know you have lots of support and prayers from those you know, and those of us that hope to meet you one day. :)

ReplyDeleteHang in there and keep up those positive attitudes that we heard last night! Sentencia has to be right around the corner....especially now that we have all your MN friends in adoption praying hard for you...I'm telling you, you can't go wrong with this bunch!! :0)
I asked Ben & Lauren when they thought you guys should do for fun this weekend and they both agreed that ice cream from Mimos or Crepes and Waffles is a MUST!! By the way, they recommend the "gummy" sundae at Crepes & Waffles! :0) They also suggested some pizza at Jeno's so they kids get to make their own...very fun place with very yummy food!!!! Now I personally say get to the markets and have a blast...but ice cream is also a bonus too!
